A new development was released in the Catherine Camilon case
The DNA of the parents of Catherine Camilon matched the hair and blood that were found in an abandoned car connected to the disappearance of the beauty queen.
Catherine was last seen by her family on October 12. More than a month later since her disappearance was reported, a new development was released by the Philippine National Police (PNP).
Two witnesses surfaced and said that they saw a bloodied woman being transferred from her car to another car.
Based on the report from GMA News, the blood and hair profile found inside the abandoned car matched the DNA of Catherine Camilon’s parents.
PNP Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) Director Major General Romeo Caramat Jr. said, “Hair strands at blood na nakita dun sa sasakyan ay nag-match dun sa DNA profile na binigay ng magulang ni Ms. Catherine Camilon.” He also said that this recent development is consistent with the witnesses’s statement.
With this, Caramat said that the witnesses were not lying. “There is a corroborative evidence na talagang nakita nilang babae na binubuhat ng mga suspect natin ay certainly si Ms. Camilon,” he added.
Caramat stated that the case they are filing intensified because of this latest finding. He also said that the PNP forensic chemists that their trying to examine the car in order to get fingerprints to match the suspects’ fingerprints.
Previously, kidnapping and serious illegal detention complaints were filed against Police Major Allan de Castro who confirmed that he and Catherine Camilon were in an illicit relationship, and three other suspects.
Based on the PNP’s statement, a friend of the Miss Grand Philippines 2023 candidate reached out to them and said that Catherine was having a relationship with De Castro who allegedly gave her the car she was driving when she left their house. Previously, Catherine’s boyfriend denied his involvement in her disappearance.
