Catherine Camilon Boyfriend is the main suspect in the beauty queen’s disappearance
Catherine Camilon Boyfriend – Major Allan de Castro was named as one of the suspects in the disappearance of the Miss Grand Philippines 2023 candidate but he denied his involvement.
Previously, the Philippine National Police (PNP) stated that De Castro had a conversation with the victim before she disappeared on October 12. The conversation consisted of how much money the victim will get. Kidnapping and serious illegal detention charges were filed against De Castro and the other three suspects.
In an interview, based on the article in PEP, Police Colonel Jacinto Malinao, Jr., regional chief of CIDG 4A said that De Castro was formerly assigned to Batangas PNP and he was the drug enforcement unit deputy.
“At ang kinalaman po niya dito, base po sa nakalap na may salaysay, lalung-lalo na sa kapatid ng biktima na si Catherine, sila ay merong relasyon,” Malinao said. De Castro was relieved from his duty right after he was identified as the person of interest in this case.
Malinao added that it was confirmed that De Castro was Catherine Camilon Boyfriend by the beauty queen’s friend, who is also a pageant contestant.
“At doon nga sa kanilang binigay sa ating mga combination ng exchange of messages sa Messenger, ito ang ating suspect na si Major Allan de Castro ay minsan ay nanakit kay Catherine,” the CIDG regional chief said, adding that this is what they see as De Castro’s involvement.
Malinao also said that De Castro is currently under restricted custody of PNP Calabarzon. He is readily available for further investigation. However, the suspect is not admitting anything regarding this case.
“Maliban sa pag-conduct namin ng interview sessions with him, ang nakuha po namin ay puro general denial at nasa duty siya ng time na yun. Ganoon din po ang kanyang explanation sa Batangas PNP,” Malinao said.
De Castro also had “general denial” when his provincial director asked him when this issue occurred.
“But kami naman ay hindi naniniwala ng ganoon at patuloy ang aming investigation as to his specific whereabouts during that time. Kasi tao nga yan at nakikita naman natin ay duty detail na he was on duty that time,” the CIDG regional chief explained.
