Police are ready to give a reward to anyone who could provide information on Juan Jumalon Case
Juan Jumalon Case – The Presidential Task Force on Media Security (PTFoMS) offers a P100,000 reward for anyone who could give information on the suspects in the killing of the radio broadcaster, popularly known as DJ Johnny Walker.
Jumalon was murdered on November 5 while having his regular morning radio program which was also aired on Facebook Live. The radio broadcaster was holding his program at his radio booth in his house.
While speaking, a man suddenly entered his booth and shot him dead. The suspect grabbed Jumalon’s necklace before he went out.
On November 6, authorities said that there were four possible motives for this crime. Although, there is a possibility that this is due to a personal grudge and Juan Jumalon was not a hard-hitting broadcaster, authorities are not eliminating the possibility that this crime is work-related.
The Misamis Occidental Provincial Police Office released on Monday a computerized facial composite of one of the suspects.
Based on the report from One News PH, the PTFoMS is ready to provide a reward for anyone who could give information on the suspects. Previously, it was reported that there were three “persons of interest.” The two suspects went inside the house while the other one served as a lookout.
Misamis Occidental Governor Henry Oaminal condemned this crime against the radio broadcaster and he called this the latest in a series of “atrocities” in the province.
“And as a matter of fact, he (Jumalon) is a PWD [person with disability], pilay ‘yon…grabe naman ‘yung ginawa sa kanya,” the Governor said in a radio interview. Oaminal said that Jumalon was a “fearless broadcaster” and a “good man.”
