Sandara Park showed appreciation for G-Dragon
South Korean star Sandara Park made a revelation about K-Pop BIGBANGS’s member G-Dragon.
Sandara has come a long way since she started her showbiz career through ABS-CBN’s talent search Star Circle Quest. She did several shows in the Philippines before she decided to pursue a career in her home country.
Sandara, who is tagged the “Pambansang Krung-Krung”, became part of one of the most successful K-pop all-girl groups 2NE1. Previously, she revealed that she was not able to save with the group disbanded.
Just recently, Sandara Park had a guesting on the YouTube channel of JYJ and former TVXQ member Jaejoong. In the video, the celebrity talked about her experiences when she was still in the K-pop group, based on the article in PUSH.
Sandara revealed that G-Dragon helped her become a fixed member of the 2NE1. She also shared that her initial plan was to have an acting career when she auditioned for a spot in YG Entertainment.
“I wasn’t a fixed member yet. I was auditioning to act [and] I joined while I was training to act. So it was a dramatic change,” she said.
After that, Sandara would always go to a karaoke in order to practice her vocals. She would go with G-Dragon so that he could witness that she was working hard to be better at singing.
“I asked G-Dragon when ‘LIES’ was out and BIGBANG had more power. I thought if G-Dragon went to Hyun-suk (Yang Hyun-suk, YG Entertainment CEO) and say ‘Dara is really good’ [then] it would really happen,” Sandara said.
The K-pop also shared that they had to film themselves every month and she remembered that G-Dragon said, “she isn’t great but she’s the cool one.”
Meanwhile, although Sandara Park would just seldom visits the Philippines, she admitted that it is flattering that there are still a lot of Pinoys who recognize her.
