Rica Peralejo talked about her showbiz comeback
Actress Rica Peralejo recalled joining rival youth-oriented shows in the 90s, the TGIS on GMA and Gimik on ABS-CBN.
Rica started her career in showbiz at a young age. She eventually became one of the most popular teen stars of her generation. In recent years, Rica has become inactive in showbiz.
She concentrated on her family after she tied the knot with her husband pastor Joseph “Joe” Bonifacio in 2010. They have two sons. Rica ventured into vlogging. On her YouTube channel, she shares glimpses of her life away from the glitz and glamour of showbiz.
In a recent interview, based on the article in The Philippine Star, Rica Peralejo expressed that she might get back to her acting career next year.
“Siguro, baka malapit na. Baka pwede na kasi lumalaki na ‘yung mga anak ko e. Yun lang naman ‘yung consideration ko lagi — the time I will lose (being) with them. So, I’m thinking maybe next year. They’re already getting more and more independent. So maybe,” she said.
The actress also shared that she really treasured her time doing the TV series TGIS when asked if she is open to the possibility of having a reunion project with her former co-stars. She said that she was up for this.
Rica became part of the TGIS cast in 1995. She played the role of Mitch who was paired with Kiko, the character played by Red Steinberg. Then, in 1997, she crossed over to Gimik as Jersey.
“Still my favorite, ‘TGIS’,” she said. She was reminded that she also became part of the rival show. “They were pretty much established na (‘Gimik’ cast) when they were together. I didn’t blend as well as I blended with ‘TGIS.’ Kasi parang, ‘TGIS,’ na-start ko talaga siya, almost from the very beginning. So, I kind of like I grew together with the cast,” she explained.
Rica Peralejo added that in Gimik, the cast members had already existed for quite some time before she entered.
