Pia Wurtzbach reached out the Ricky Lee following their viral video during an event
Miss Universe 2015 Pia Wurtzbach addressed the issue that came out after a video in which her marshal blocked National Artist for Film and Broadcast Arts Ricky Lee.
The said event was the Manila International Book Fair at SMX Convention Center, in Pasay City last September 14. At that time, Pia also launched her first book Queen of the Universe.
Previously, Ricky already spoke about this incident. He said that the guard should have been aware that he was recognized by Pia. It can be seen in the video that the beauty queen approached the famous writer, shook his hand, and even thanked him.
Despite the fact that Pia Wurtzbach recognized and acknowledged Ricky Lee, her marshal still blocked him. The video went viral and netizens criticized the guard for not recognizing the National Artist.
In line with this issue, based on the article in Pang-Masa, King of Talk Boy Abunda shared that he talked to the third Pinay Miss Universe regarding this. During the recent episode of Tito Boy’s Kapuso talk show, he said that Pia already reached out to Ricky.
“Nag-reach out na si Pia, even if it was not Pia’s fault, to apologize, to say sorry na nangyari ito,” the veteran talk show host said. He also said that the issue was resolved but definitely this will leave an important lesson.
“So, naayos na ito pero leksyon ho sa atin dahil importante na tinatrato ho natin – well, no. 1, seniors, no. 2, this was a book fair, this was a cultural event,” Tito Boy stressed. The veteran TV host also said that there is a law stating how a National Artist should be treated.
