EAT Vortas 5 Contestant “Mahaba ‘to” Has Double Meaning?

A contestant in EAT Vortas 5 has this remark that caught the attention of netizens

In a recent episode of EAT Vortas 5, a contestant received negative reactions because of his “Mahaba ‘to” remark.

These past few months, the noontime shows in the Philippines have been controversial. There was an issue in the Kapuso noontime show Eat Bulaga when veteran hosts Tito Sotto, Vic Sotto, and Joey de Leon left TAPE Inc. Eventually, they launched their new show on TV5.

Because of that, the Kapamilya noontime It’s Showtime was no longer able to renew its contract with the Kapatid network. This opted them to collaborate with GMA and they were given a spot on GTV.

On September 4, the Movie and Television Review and Classification Board (MTRCB) suspended the Kapamilya noontime show due to the icing incident of couple Vice Ganda and Ion Perez.

Following that decision, MTRCB and chairwoman Lala Sotto received criticism. The agency and the chairman are accused of being unfair.

The issue of being supposed unfair was hyped up when this video of Miles Ocampo, Allan K, and EAT Vortas 5 contestant surfaced online, based on the article in Balita. In a video clip that was posted by X user @altcristifermin, the contestant was asked about his work.

He said that he is a former elementary teacher. Miles commented, “Magaling sa bata ‘to.” Seasoned comedian-host Allan K clarified, “Mapagpasensya. Mahaba ang pasensya.” Then, the contestant said, “Opo mahaba ‘to.”

It can be seen that Allan slightly hit the contestant’s arm and Miles continued saying, “Mahaba ang pasensya siyempre bata ‘yon…” The contestant put his hand on his mouth as if he wanted to retract what he said.

The post has this caption, “Mahaba to” Walang malisya yan . Pwede sa mga jugets na nanonood. Lala at MTRCB walang makitang double meaning!”
