According to an Inquirer report, Ramos stated, “I won’t be participating in the Asian Games.” The 6’4″ shooting guard cited his commitment to Japan’s B.League, where he plays for Levanga Hokkaido, as the reason for his unavailability.

Ramos expressed his intention to fully immerse himself in the World Cup experience, relishing the opportunity to compete against notable players and improve his skills. He hopes that this experience will contribute to a successful B.League season.

“It’s my first World Cup and I’m gonna take in all these games. All these players I’ve played against and had to guard and hopefully, it helps me have a great B.League season this year. That’s what I’m hoping for,” he added, based on the article.

Following his impressive performance, which included 11 points, five rebounds, and four assists in Gilas’ historic win over China, the 25-year-old Ramos mentioned that he will soon be heading to Japan to rejoin his Levanga Hokkaido team. He had signed a contract extension with Levanga Hokkaido in June 2023.

In addition to Ramos, AJ Edu, Kiefer Ravena, and Kai Sotto are expected to join the Toyama Grouses, Shiga Lakes, and the Hiroshima Dragonflies, respectively. Meanwhile, Rhenz Abando is set to play for the Anyang KGC in the Korean Basketball League, which typically commences in October.
