Gilas even took the lead for good, 59-55, after Dwight Ramos got hot and scored back-to-back triples. Jordan Clarkson’s foul out with 3:32 left in the fourth quarter added to Gilas’ burden.
Clarkson had 28 points, seven rebounds, and seven assists in the game. Based on the report, Chot Reyes, Gilas’ head coach, said that JC’s foul in the final minute of the game was a significant setback.
Clarkson’s final foul, according to Chot, should not have been called by the officials. The Dominican Republic was down by three points when the Utah Jazz star was fouled out with three minutes remaining.
