Teachers and Students Watching FIBA World Cup 2023 Given 50% Discount
Basketball fan teachers and students who will watch FIBA World Cup 2023 in Philippine Arena in Bocaue, Bulacan will be give 50% discount.
Students and teachers who want to watch the upcoming 2023 FIBA World Cup in the country will receive a discount from the FIBA World Cup Local Organizing Committee. The organizing committee did this to show their support for the Gilas Pilipinas in the worldwide tournament.
In a recorded video, Commission on Higher Education (CHED) Chairman Popoy de Vera stated that students and instructors will receive a 50% discount on tickets to the August 25 opening ceremony at the Philippine Arena in Bulacan. That is why De Vera encouraged instructors and students to tune in live to the FIBA Basketball World Cup 2023.
“May 50% DISCOUNT na naghihintay sa inyo kapag kayo ay bumili ng ticket sa mga official ticketing outlet at website para sa opening ceremony sa August 25 at sa mga piling laro magmula naman sa Agosto 26 hanggang Setyembre 10. Ipakita lamang ang inyong valid School or PRC ID para makakuha ng discount!” De Vera said in the FB post.
He stated that official ticketing terminals (TicketNet or SM Ticket outlet) will only accept student ID cards and Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) IDs for teachers. Aside from cheap tickets for the opening ceremony, the CHED is also offering 50% off select games from August 25 to September 2.
On the specified dates, these include seats in “the premium upper box, regular upper box, and general admission categories” at the Philippine Arena, Smart Araneta Coliseum, and SM Mall of Asia Arena. De Vera asked the higher education sector to support Filipino athletes competing in the 2018 World Cup.
Aside from the ticket discount, FIBA organizers have announced complimentary point-to-point (P2P) shuttle buses for participants of the opening-day games on August 25 at the Philippine Arena. Based on the report of One News, these buses will be waiting at 12 strategically selected take-off spots, with planned departures at 11 a.m. and 12 p.m. from each boarding station.
On the designated website, ticket holders can select their desired pick-up location and departure time. When spectators arrive at the Philippine Arena, they will be given a voucher for free food as well as FIBA Basketball World Cup 2023 items like as scarves, fan clappers, and rally towels.
Additionally, a unique LED bracelet will be distributed to the audience, adding a special touch to the ambience and contributing to an extraordinary light display experience. Aside from the festivities, the event hopes to make history by breaking the previous attendance record of 32,616 people.
The basketball spectacle will begin at 4 p.m. with a thrilling battle between Angola and Italy, followed by an exhilarating match between Gilas Pilipinas and the Dominican Republic at 8 p.m. The Gilas will focus on defeating the Dominican Republic and Angola teams.
