GMA executive was asked about the possibility that Willie Revillame will return
Senior Vice President of GMA Network and President and CEO of GMA Films Annette Gozon-Valdes said that the Kapuso network has no timeslot for Willie Revillame, for now.
Kuya Wil was part of GMA for many years through his show Wowowin. However, last year, he decided to turn down the offer from GMA to renew his contract. At that time, he was already negotiating with business tycoon Manny Villar’s ALLTV network.
Eventually, he bought his show on ALLTV where he served as a sort of consultant as well but this did not last long. Following some issues in his show and the network, Kuya Wil said that he was “nabunutan ng tinik” after he resigned from ALLTV.
Last July, reports surfaced that Willie Revillame will have his comeback and it will be in PTV. As of writing, there are no follow-up reports yet about this.
In a recent interview, based on the article in Pang-Masa, GMA executive Annette Gozon-Valdes was asked about the chance that Kuya Wil will go back to the Kapuso network. She said that right now, GMA has no vacant timeslot.
“Kasi as of now, wala kaming available timeslot talaga. Kasi ‘di ba dati nandun siya sa slot before 24 Oras, magbabalik na ‘yung Family Feud. Binili na namin kasi ulit ‘yung franchise. As of now, wala talaga kaming available timeslot,” Ms. Annette said.
The GMA executive also talked about the Kapuso noontime show Eat Bulaga. She said that the show is doing well and she stressed that they have nothing to do with the production. Television and Production Exponents Inc. (TAPE Inc) is the production company behind the noontime show.
“So ‘yun nga, sinasabi ko, wala naman kaming kinalaman talaga sa production, pero syempre masaya kami pag nagre-rate sila,” she said. GMA and Eat Bulaga’s contracts is existing until 2024.
Rumor has it that GMA will not renew its contract with the show but Ms. Annette said that the contract’s end is still too far. She said that there is still a lot to happen with that period of time.
