It was stated that the contraband was discovered by the BuCor guard posted at the NBP’s inner gate control during the mandatory checking of the items. He was apprehended when searching for his things, which revealed the contraband stashed in a rice plastic bag.

Based on the report, San Gabriel was handed up to the maximum unit’s commander for additional examination and disposition. Gregorio Catapang Jr, Director General of BuCor, asked prison officers to quit doing wrong in the bureau.

Meanwhile, a BuCor employee has been arrested for using an ambulance to smuggle contraband into the prison. This incident comes despite BuCor’s efforts to clean up and remove corrupt personnel

Previously, two BuCor personnel were apprehended while attempting to sneak in some contraband hidden within their underwear and a cosmetic pouch bag. Meanwhile, another person detained (PDL) turned over contraband being sold within the holding cell to authorities.
