The Honor Play 40 was officially announced on July 5, 2023. The 5G-ready smartphone is powered by a 5200 mAh Li-Po battery (non-removable) + 10W wired charging. It was offered in four colors – Blue, Mint, Black, and Purple.
Body & Display:
The smartphone comes in a 6.56 inches screen size and the display is TFT LCD capacitive touchscreen that provides 720 x 1612 pixels resolution. It measures 163.3 x 75.1 x 8.4 mm and weighs 188 grams.
Platform:
Play 40 is powered by the Qualcomm SM4350-AC Snapdragon 480+ 5G (8 nm) Octa-core processor while the graphics processing unit (GPU) is Adreno 619. It runs on the Android 13 + Magic UI 7.1 operating system. It comes in variants such as 128GB + 6GB RAM, 128GB + 8GB RAM, and 256GB + 8GB RAM.
Main Camera:
Honor Play 40 sports a dual-camera setup at the back comprising a 13-megapixel (wide) + 2-megapixel (depth) sensor. It features an LED flash, HDR, and panorama.
Selfie Camera:
For clicking selfies and self-shooting videos, there is a single camera on the front that features a 5-megapixel (wide) camera.
Connectivity options on the device include Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, GPS, GLONASS, GALILEO, BDS, USB Type-C 2.0, USB OTG, and Bluetooth 5.1. Its sensors include fingerprint (side-mounted), accelerometer, proximity, and compass.
