Shaina Magdayao shared that she thought of leaving the entertainment industry
Kapamilya actress Shaina Magdayao revealed that amid her successful career in showbiz, she thought of becoming a nun.
Shaina was one of the most popular child stars in the 90s. Her beautiful face and her ability to give certain emotions in front of the camera hooked fans who continued to support her until now.
Amid her success, projects here and there, Shaina thought of leaving the entertainment industry.
That was the time when she questioned her purpose in the entertainment industry, based on the article in Pilipino Star Ngayon. Shaina Magdayao did not go through auditions. Projects landed on her lap and she was asking if this career is really meant for her.
“When I started questioning my purpose, that’s when I started asking bakit ba ako nandito sa industriya na ito? Ano ba ang ginagawa ko rito? Isinubo ito lahat sa akin. I did not have to audition. I did not have to line up. Bilang nga ‘yung times na nag-workshop ako,” the younger sister of actress-singer Vina Morales said.
Having these doubts in her mind back then, she started to look for answers. She started to realized that she can’t just turn her back from this job. The actress also said that she is put where she is to share her God-given talent.
“For me that’s the most rewarding thing because I have this calling of service,” the actress said. With all her years in the entertainment industry, Shaina is thankful to the fans who are still supporting her until now.
The actress also recalled that when she was having a hard time finding her purpose, she thought of leaving showbiz and becoming a nun.
“Nahirapan akong hanapin itong purpose ko. But when Tita Cory (Vidanes) told me after five years of looking for that purpose and akala ko ay magmamadre na lang ako. Tatalikuran ko na lang ito, magse-serve na lang ako sa charity,” the actress said.
She was told by the ABS-CBN executive that she can still serve even if she is in showbiz. With that, she was able to see her deeper purpose even just with simple interaction with her co-stars and other people in the industry.
