TAPE Inc Allegedly Plans to File Cases Against 2 Former Hosts of Eat Bulaga
Television and Production Exponents Inc (TAPE) allegedly plans to file cases against the two (2) former hosts of Eat Bulaga.
According to Gorgy Rula’s column in Pilipino Star Ngayon, TAPE Inc was speculated to bring charges against some former Eat Bulaga hosts as part of the legal struggle between TVJ Productions and their firm. According to the piece, TAPE was already compiling the accusations against the former Eat Bulaga hosts.
“Abangan naman natin ang kasong isasampa ng TAPE, Inc. laban sa dating taga-Eat Bulaga. Ang dinig namin, dalawang dating taga-EB ang kakasuhan nila,” Rula wrote on his Showbiz Ganern! column.
However, Rula was unsure of the specific claims submitted by TAPE or who the hosts named in the lawsuit were. “Wala lang kaming ideya kung sino ang mga ito, at ano ang isasampang kaso,” Rula added.
Tito Sotto, Vic Sotto, and Joey de Leon filed the complaint on June 30 after TAPE and GMA aired several episodes of “Eat Bulaga” without TVJ’s permission. The TVJ filed copyright infringement charges against TAPE and GMA Network.
Furthermore, TAPE and GMA received a summons from the Marikina Court requiring them to respond to the case within 30 days. TAPE, on the other hand, denied that they did anything illegal and claimed ownership of Eat Bulaga’s title trademark.
