Cristy Fermin Wishes Bimby Aquino Follow Footsteps of His Father James Yap
Veteran showbiz columnist Cristy Fermin wishes Bimby Aquino-Yap to follow in the footsteps of his father basketball player James Yap.
In the episode of “Showbiz Now Na!”, Cristy Fermin and her co-hosts addressed Bimby and James’ reunion on Father’s Day. The columnist also talked about Bimby, the son of “Queen of All Media” Kris Aquino.
The veteran columnist hopes Bimby will follow in his father, James Yap’s, footsteps. They talked about Bimby’s future career options, including the possibility of becoming a television host like his mother, Kris. Cristy stated that she wished for Bimby, who inherited his father’s height, to become a basketball player.
“Sana turuan niya [James] ng magbasketball si Bimby para hindi sinasabi ng mga kababayan natin na magiging tv host daw,” said Cristy in her show.
“Baka mag-volleyball nalang,” Wendell quipped.
Basketball, according to Wendell, is a sport for men, whereas volleyball is popular among women. The hosts stated that they wanted to see Bimby use his height to dominate the court.
“Lalake [si Bimby] kaya dapat magba-basketball,” the host said.
As of this writing, Bimby had not announced his ideas for the road he intended to walk. On June 27, the multimedia entertainment agency shared a photo of what appeared to be a contract signing, with Kris and James’s son, Bimby, posing with the agency’s president, Erickson Raymundo, vice president, Jeffrey Vadillo, and senior artist handler, Cristine Calawod.
Tito Boy revealed in a July 5 episode of Fast Talk with Boy Abunda that he hosted a private dinner for a “exploratory meeting” to discuss Bimby’s potential showbiz future. Boy, who also serves as Bimby’s guardian, stated that he has received permission from Bimby’s mother, Kris Aquino, who is now in the United States for medical treatment.
