Paolo Contis values his friendship with axed Bubble Gang cast members
Kapuso actor Paolo Contis shared his thoughts on Bubble Gang cast members who are not part of the new version of the gag show.
The longest-running gag show in the Philippines is taking a revamp. Based on the article in PEP, it will now be called BBLGANG. It will be shown on Sundays, at 6 PM starting July 9. Along with the reformatting, other cast members are no longer part of the show and new cast members were added.
Paolo pointed out that revamp is inevitable since the show has been airing for more than two decades already. He said that even though there were those who already “graduated,” they still frequently guested on the show.
“Right now, feeling ko, ang goal ng network kaya mas konti kami ay para mas marami kaming ma-guest, mas marami kaming sinasama,” Paolo Contis said pointing out upcoming guesting of social media personalities Jelai Andres at Mika Salamanca.
The actor also pointed out that’s part of being relevant, they had to along with the trend. “Eventually they can always come back. Yung mga nag-graduate naman may mga ginagawa sila, may mga teleserye sila,” he added.
He also shared that he remained friends with the cast members who are no longer part of the show. Paolo also admitted that it made him sad that he will no longer be working with Sef Cadayona and Archie Alemania in Bubble Gang. It is because they are really close friends behind the camera.
“Of course, malungkot, but we’re not taping friends. We’re friends Regardless kung di namin sila kasama tuwing Lunes [na taping], araw-araw kausap ko si Archie, si Sef. Yun lang naman yun,” Paolo Contis said.
