DBM Warns Public Against Fixers and Scammers Posing as Government Employees

The Department of Budget and Management (DBM) warned the public against fixers and scammers posing as government employees.

The DBM warns the public once more in a Facebook post about fixers and fraudulent individuals posing as government officials and workers. DBM stated that scammers offer a swift and secure transaction in exchange for money.

Scammers demand money or payment first for the document or process that it is working on with the aforementioned agency. The DBM also urged the Philippine National Police-Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (PNP-CIDG) and the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) to ramp up efforts to catch fixers and scammers who use the agency.

In this regard, the DBM maintained the integrity and honesty of its operations and transactions, which strictly adhere to existing laws, rules, and regulations, particularly when it comes to the disbursement of public monies.

DBM mandates that requests for Local Government Support Fund-Financial Assistance (LGSF-FA) must be submitted only through the DBM Apps Portal’s Digital Requests Submission for Local Government Support Fund (DRSL), based on their Facebook post.

According to the agency, all documents submitted through other channels will be automatically rejected. DBM further stated that it does not condone and would never approve individuals or groups to request money, commodities, or favors in exchange for a rapid transaction because it is illegal.
