Sharon Cuneta Joke Alden Richards and Maine Mendoza Drew Flak Online
Megastar Sharon Cuneta earns criticisms online over her joke to Alden Richards and its former loveteam partner Maine Mendoza.
To recall, Sharon Cuneta appeared as a guest on Tito Sotto, Vic Sotto, Joey de Leon, and Legit Dabarkads, a new noontime show that premiered on TV5 on July 1. Sharon herself stated that it was “payback time” when she appeared on TVJ’s noontime broadcast.
In the meantime, netizens reacted to Sharon Cuneta’s joke to Alden Richards, aside from the fact that she acknowledged to “voice crack” owing to a lack of rehearsal during her guest appearance on E.A.T. When the Megastar saw Maine Mendoza among the Dabarkads, she praised her and revealed that she is working on a project with her “son” Alden.
“Hi, Maine. Congrats, ha? Gusto ko lang sabihin na nagsu-shooting kami ngayon ng bago kong anak, si Alden Richards!” she said. Sharon followed it up with, “Hi, Alden…nandito si Maine!” with matching “bungisngis” which is the trademark of the singer-actress.
Most netizens, however, were not amused by Sharon’s mocking. They wondered if the Megastar was unaware that Maine was about to marry Arjo Atayde. Sharon’s joke was so bad that netizens assumed she was congratulating Maine, who is getting married soon.
Sharon, in short, is supposed to be out of the picture. A netizen stated that it is fine if Sharon loves Alden, but she added bashers and attacked Maine’s fiancé as a result of what he did.
Sharon answered: “It clearly was a joke I even congratulated her on and off air. Sana wag masyadong sensitive kasi matagal naman silang magka-team at friends sila.”
Meanwhile, Ogie Diaz answered promptly in his Showbiz Update. Sharon stated that she only intended to promote the film A Mother and a Son’s Story, in which she and Alden star.
If all goes well, the aforementioned film will be one of the eight official entrants to this year’s Metro Manila Film Festival. Besides, Maine and Alden used to be a love team at the old Eat Bulaga.
