Dingdong Dantes talked about his role in his new teleserye
Kapuso Primetime King Dingdong Dantes shared how he prepared for his role in the new primetime murder mystery series Royal Blood.
Dingdong is one of the most sought-after leading men of his generation and fans are excited that he is finally returning to acting. His recent series is something that he is really excited to share with the Kapuso viewers.
In a recent interview shared on GMA Entertainment’s site, the actor shared details about his character Napoy who is the illegitimate son of a business tycoon Gustavo Royales played by veteran actor Tirso Cruz III.
Tirso’s character was murdered and Napoy became one of the suspects. The story will revolve around this and even the cast members have no idea who among their characters killed the Royales patriarch.
Dingdong Dantes shared that his character Napoy somehow has similarities in how he is as a father. In the series, he has a seven-year-old daughter, and his real-life daughter named Zia is now 7 years old.
“Ang Royal Blood kasi kwento ng mga magkakapatid na iba-iba ang motibo nila sa buhay,” the actor shared. He added that the Royales sibling are colorful characters and this is the reason why Napoy’s character should be distict and should stand out.
Dingdong also shared that it is a challenge in his character to excel and do good since he is an illegitimate child. For his character, the actor had to sport a mullet hairstyle with highlights.
When it comes to his first impression of his character in the series, Dingdong said that he immediately thought that this was something different. “Bago ito, especially sa local television setting,” he said.
Dingdong Dantes also described the series as “exciting at nakakatakot” not because of the material but because the fear comes from the thought that he might not portray the character properly. However, this is something good for him because it challenges him to be better.
