Actor-basketball player Gerald Anderson went viral on social media after he missed a free throw show when a fan shouted the name of Kim Chiu.
A video of Gerald, who plays for the Marikina Team in the Maharlika Pilipinas Basketball League (MPBL) 2023, doing a free shot recently went viral and elicited emotions from the online community. The actor in the video missed a free throw shot after someone called out Kim Chiu’s name.
While he was prepared for his second free throw attempt, a member of the audience yelled, “Idol, isa pa para kay Kim Chiu!”. In the video, one of the commentators thought it was funny and speculated that the person may have mentioned the wrong name.
Gerald Anderson and Kim Chiu formerly had a romantic relationship. During their time on the reality show “Pinoy Big Brother: Teen Edition” in 2006, the two actors began dating.
Their on-screen connection evolved into a real-life romance that drew a large fan base who dubbed them the “Kimerald” love combo. Gerald and Kim’s relationship lasted several years and was highlighted by their collaboration on numerous television and film productions.
They appeared in popular teleseryes such as “Sana Maulit Muli” and “My Girl,” cementing their reputation as one of the Philippines’ most adored love pairings. Their partnership, however, encountered difficulties and ended in 2010.
