Zambales Rep Jay Khonghun Reacts on Aiko Melendez on Controversial TikTok Video
The boyfriend of Aiko Melendez Zambales Rep Jay Khonghun reacts to the controversial TikTok video of his girlfriend after being criticized.
Recent Tiktok videos of Quezon City Councilor Aiko Melendez dancing with other councilors at the Quezon City Session Hall have sparked outrage. The online community chastised Aiko for allegedly desecrating the session hall.
As netizens reacted unfavorably to Aiko’s TikTok video, her boyfriend, Zambales Rep Jay Khonghun, defended her. Jay commented on the situation on Facebook, emphasizing that the dancing video was filmed prior to the roll call. As a result, no rules were broken.
“In light of the recent news involving Councilor Aiko Melendez, the Office of Congressman Jay Khonghun would like to first correct the statement of former COMELEC Commissioner Rowena Guanzon that the viral Tik-Tok videos of QC District 5 Councilor Aiko Melendez were done at the Plenary Hall of the House of Representatives. Those videos were taken at the Quezon City Session Hall.
Meanwhile, QC Vice Mayor Gian Sotto issues a statement in response to Aiko’s controversial video. Sotto said that Councilor Aiko and others did not breach any internal Quezon City Council rules or procedures, and that it was recorded prior to their planned session.
“Councilor Aiko has an exemplary record as a councilor of District 5. She was never involved in any corrupt and dishonest practices while serving her term. This Tik-Tok video should not taint her hardwork and dedication as a city councilor as if she did a crime,” Jay said.

Besides, would you prefer a public official who publicly posts TikTok videos for fun or a public official who steals public money quietly,” he added in his post.
