Ogie Diaz Defends Aiko Melendez After She Was Criticized Due To TikTok Video

Ogie Diaz reacted to a post about his friend Aiko Melendez

Talent manager-vlogger Ogie Diaz defended actress Aiko Melendez, who is currently serving as Quezon City councilor after she was criticized due to her TikTok video.

Aiko shared a TikTok video with fellow officials including SK Chairman and actor Julian Trono. It can be noticed in the video that they were at the session hall. This did not sit well with many netizens.

Aiko received negative reactions on her Instagram post featuring the short dance she did with Julian.

One netizen asked, “Ganyan ba kayo mag office?” Aiko Melendez replied to this. “Before the serious work is done… so chef easy ka lang kasi we work hard too,” the actress-politician said.

In the comment section of her post, Aiko also explained that, as it was stated in the caption, the video was taken before the session and that they were celebrating because “it was finally calendared in our agenda to approve the additional 10000 bonuses of our employees.”

Inquire’s Twitter page shared a post about this and the criticism that Aiko received because of her TikTok video.

The actress’s manager, Ogie Diaz, reacted to this. The talent manager-vlogger defended that when good projects are being done, it is not going viral. “Nag-tiktok lang, dami nang kumuda? Me nilabag bang protocol?” he asked.

Then, he pointed out that people should criticize those who are always absent during the sessions. “May corruption bang naganap sa video? Ang i-bash nyo ay kung sino ang laging absent na konsehal during sessions,” he said.

In the comment section of his tweet, several netizens disagreed with Ogie Diaz. “I disagree, Mama Ogie. Pwede silang sabay i call-out. Mali na nagagamit ang opisina sa mga ganito. Kung ang ordinaryong kawani ng gobyerno nasisita sa ganito, much more silang halal ng taong bayan,” Twitter user @dumidyeypee commented.
