The administration of the noontime show issued a warning to fraudsters who use the show’s popularity and its segments for unlawful activity. During an online broadcast of “It’s Showtime,” various hosts of It’s Showtime Online U admonished individuals who reportedly sent messages claiming to be part of the show.

Note to hosts: double-check that messages received are indeed from show officials. They also stated that the management never requested for money in exchange for certain audition opportunities, such as the section “Tawag ng Tanghalan.”

Not even the most recent TNT champion, Lyka Estrella, was immune to the tactic, as she described a story in which her name was used to gather money through an internet program. Finally, the host encouraged the audience to be more cautious and meticulous in such dealings.
