Dolly De Leon Reacts to Liza Soberano and Her Controversial Statements
Award-winning actress Dolly De Leon gives reactions to the controversial statements of actress Liza Soberano.
On Twitter, international award-winning actress Dolly De Leon has become the topic of users due to her comments about former Kapamilya star Liza Soberano’s words about her showbiz career.
According to Julius Babao, a TV5 news anchor, in his vlog, he sees nothing wrong with what Liza said. Some of these are her “pagkahon” in terms of genre and companion, as well as “love teams.”
“Whatever she said, it’s her truth and we have to respect it. We should allow people to voice out whatever, I mean like me, I’m voicing out so many things, ‘di ba,” said Dolly.
“So why not give her the space that she deserves to speak her truth, and for me, kung marami siyang mga negative feelings or hinanakit… it’s only human for us to talk about that and be honest about our experiences, there’s nothing wrong with that,” she added in her interview.
Dolly believes that Liza is slowly penetrating Hollywood as her goal now. “Actually naka-penetrate na siya sa Hollywood, meron siyang ‘Liza Frankenstein,’ malapit na ‘yan… baka before you know it, nandiyan na siya…”
Dolly captured the attention of a worldwide audience with her performance in the film Triangle of Sadness. She was able to attend prominent movie award ceremonies as a result of this stint.
The Filipino actor has won the Los Angeles Film Critics Association Awards thanks to the Pinay actress. According to The Philippine Star, she was also honored with Sweden’s Goldbaggage Award, which is similar to the Oscars.
Triangle of Sadness, which won the Cannes Palme d’Or, also earned Swedish filmmaker Ruben Ostlund Oscar nominations for Best Picture, Best Director, and Best Screenplay.
Dolly de Leon is also the first Filipina to be nominated for a Golden Globe and a BAFTA (British Academy Film Awards). She completed production for the film Grand Death Lotto in the United States in March of this year. Aside from that, she has worked on Between Temples with Jason Schwarztman.
