Carlo Katigbak and Annette Gozon are happy about ‘Unbreak My Heart’
ABS-CBN President and Chief Executive Officer Carlo Katigbak and GMA Films President Annette Gozon shared what they feel about collaboration between Kapamilya and Kapuso.
The special advanced screening of the sereis Unbreak My Heart was held at Trinoma Cinema 7, Quezon City, on May 20. This project is historical as the former rival networks worked together on this series.
It featured Kapamilya stars Jodi Sta Maria and Joshua Garcia, and they are joined by Kapuso stars Richard Yap and Gabbi Garcia.
In an interview during the event, based on the article in PEP, Carlo Katigbak said that when ABS-CBN’s franchise was revoked, it was a devastating time for them but that also taught them that in order to survive, they also need the help from other people in the industry.
“It made us to learn to embrace partnership with other storytellers,” the ABS-CBN executive said. He added that a good example to this is the project Unbreak My Heart. For him, this is something historical.
“This is one of the best shows we have ever produced, and it confirms what the Filipinos can truly achieve especially when two very talented teams choose to work together,” he said.
Carlo Katigbak also thanked all the Kapuso and Kapamilya who continued showing their support.
For Annette Gozon, it was overwhelming to see everyone who attended the special screening. “It’s such a historic occasion and your presence makes this more memorable,” she said.
The Kapuso exective also expressed gratitude to ABS-CBN. She reiterated her previous statemetn that they are respecting the works that the Kapamilya network has made. Through this recent project, Gozon said that ABS-CBN once again proved the quality of the project they do.
“We’re very happy to be your partner with this project. And of course we’d like to thank you for also supporting this project and being our partner in this very memorable first co-production which I hope won’t be the last, the first of many to come,” she said.
