Active Cop Selling Illegal Drugs Arrested in a Buy-Bust Operation in Albay
The authorities arrested an active cop for allegedly selling illegal drugs during a buy-bust operation in Guinobatan, Albay.
The Philippine National Police-Integrity Monitoring Enforcement Group (PNP-IMEG) recently executed a buy-bust operation on an active cop in Guinobatan, Albay. The drug suspect was apprehended after selling illegal drugs to a fellow officer.
According to the report, the suspect was identified as Patrolman Joshua Resentes of the Police Regional Office (PRO) 5’s Regional Headquarters Support Unit. Resentes was caught in a coordinated operation by members of the IMEG 5, Guinobatan Municipal Police Station (MPS), and local police.
Resentes was apprehended about two o’clock in the afternoon on Thursday in Purok 1, Barangay San Rafael, Guinobatan, Albay, according to police. According to the report sent to the office of Philippine National Police (PNP) head General Benjamin Acorda Jr by the Luzon Field Unit of IMEG (LFU-IMEG), the poseur buyer purchased P16,000 worth of shabu from the suspect.
Resentes was found with the buy-bust money and several sachets of what seemed to be shabu. Aside from that, his cal.9 mm service rifles and ammunition were taken.
After an apprehended drug suspect indicated that Resentes was supplying him with drugs, authorities discovered that the suspect had been under observation for several weeks. Resentes is being held at Guinobatan MPS for paperwork purposes.
