With environmental initiatives applied to products and efforts to protect the environment over the years, Thien Long Group in general and FlexOffice Philippines in particular are known as a typical office supplies brand for sustainable development.
According to a report called Who Cares Who Does 2021 by market research company Kantar, 22% of consumers worldwide are willing to change their shopping habits for the environment, mainly focusing on developed economies. However, this consumer group is expected to account for half of the world’s population before 2030. The survey was conducted in 26 markets with over 88,000 participants.
For the office supplies industry, this is good news for businesses that commit to improving products in an environmentally friendly direction and reducing greenhouse gas emissions. Because they may gain a competitive advantage as the number of environmentally conscious consumers increases.
Pioneering businesses in environmentally friendly products
In the Vietnamese market, Thien Long is the first office supplies company to make product improvements aimed at reducing the environmental impact of production.
Since August 2017, Thien Long has installed a solar power system at its factory in Ho Chi Minh City with an area of up to 1900m2. Thien Long’s solar panel system generates a total average electricity output of over 334,000 kWh/year. With this number, the system saves 5.4% of electricity consumption and contributes to reducing an average of 221 tons of CO2 emissions into the environment.
According to Thien Long, the attitude and actions towards the environment today will determine the future of future generations. To convey this meaningful message, Thien Long uses a solar panel system to generate electricity to contribute to the production of Colokit – A line of art products serving children.
Since 2018, to reduce the amount of plastic waste from ink pens, Thien Long has researched and produced refillable ink pens. Among them, the Philippines is the largest market for this product with 02 products FlexMarker Refillable Whiteboard Marker and Refillable Permanent Marker.
