Siaton Mayor Fritz Diaz Accused to be Involved in Degamo Slay
A new witness on Roel Degamo slay linked Siaton Mayor Fritz Diaz to the death of Negros Oriental Governor.
According to a new witness in the Degamo slaying, a mayor was allegedly engaged in Degamo’s murder. According to the report, witness Marlon Quibod detailed the intention to assassinate Governor Degamo.
Quibod stated that he had an arrest warrant for attempted murder or homicide, so he fled to Damutan, Hinoba-an in Negros Occidental, where he met one of the perpetrators, Arnel Libradilla. Libradilla persuaded him to become an NPA, but he declined.
Quibod stated in his sworn testimony that Libradilla also invited him to join an operation planned by an alias Brownie. Quibod said that Libradilla, and Brownie even discussed the operation through video call, based on the report.
Quibod stated that the assassination of Gov. Degamo is believed to be undergoing surgery, but he rejected it because he was terrified and understood that the work would threaten his life. Quibod told the reporters on March 6 that he learned Degamo and Libradilla had been killed while being pursued by the police.
When he saw Mayor Fritz’s face on TV, he stated it was only then that he recognized the pseudonym Brownie with whom Libradilla was video talking was actually Mayor Fritz. Quibod requested that the authorities protect his and his family’s safety. Following Quibod’s confession, they headed straight to the NBI in Quezon City to surrender.
