Jose Manalo Feels “Paninibago” For His Sitcom Comeback

Jose Manalo has a new sitcom

Kapuso comedian-host Jose Manalo admitted that he still feels “paninigo” to be back to doing a sitcom.

Jose is one of the most popular comedians of this generation. For many years, his comic side is being showcased in the longest-running noontime show Eat Bulaga. He is loved for his on-the-spot jokes and many people also enjoy his tandem with fellow comedian Wally Bayola in the Kapuso noontime show.

Just recently, it was announced that Jose will be doing a sitcom with Bossing Vic Sotto and Maja Salvador. It is titled Open 24/7.

Based on the article in GMA Entertainment, Jose Manalo will be playing the role of Spark, the brother of Vic’s character Boss EZ. In a recent press conference, the comedian-host said this new sitcom is a kind of new experience for him also.

Mero’n pa rin, siyempre kailangan iba naman ‘yung atake mo sa [dati], matagal ako walang sitcom, kasi nagpapalitan nga kami. So, nanibago pa rin ako, kahit papaano,” Jose said.

He also shared that the majority of the cast members are Gen Z and Bossing said that they need to ride along with this generation.

Hindi puwedeng maiiwan ka, e. ‘Yung role namin ni Bossing dito ‘pag pinanood mo talagang parang tropa-tropa. Ganu’n hitsura para magba-barkada talaga,” Jose shared.

One of the preparations they did is to go with the current fad and the timely jokes. “Kung ano ‘yung bagong joke na puwede gamitin para sa kanila, ibigay sa inyo ‘yun po ‘yung ginagawa namin,” the comedian-host added.

Open 24/7 will air every Saturday night. The sitcom also features Riel Lomadilla, Anjay Anson, Kimson, Tan, Abed Green, Bruce Roeland, and loveteam partners Allen Ansay at Sofia Pablo.
