BIFF Terrorist Shot Dead After Resisting Cops Serving Arrest Warrant
A Bangsamoro Islamic Freedom Fighters (BIFF) terrorist was killed after being shot by police while resisting an arrest warrant.
Last Thursday, a courier for the BIFF terrorist bombs was shot when he refused to allow authorities to serve his arrest warrant on Datu Saudi Ampatuan in Maguindanao del Sur. Bansir Samaon, also known as ‘Bungo’ and ‘Malang,’ was identified as one of the suspects.
According to Lt. Col. Michael Glenn Manansala, commander of the Philippine Army’s 6th Infantry Battalion (IB), police and soldiers headed to Barangay Madia in the stated town to serve the suspect’s arrest warrant. Instead of surrendering, he fought back, opening fire on soldiers and police.
“The soldiers and policemen involved in the operation were forced to neutralize him,” Manansala said.
As a result, the authorities returned fire, striking him in various regions of the body. Manansala stated that the people of the vicinity also acknowledged that Samaon was the BIFF group’s explosives courier.
According to the report, the terrorist cell is directed by the wanted Kagui Karialan. Karialan has been a suspect in Central Mindanao bombings for the previous seven years.
