Senator Revilla Urges New PNP Chief Acord to Remove “Bulok” Police Officials
Senator Ramon “Bong” Revilla Jr urges new Philippine National Police (PNP) chief Major General Benjamin C. Acorda, Jr to remove “bulok” police officials.
The Senator challenged Acorda to prioritize cleaning up the PNP organization as a whole. He also asked the new head to address the problem, which has further damaged the police force’s already tarnished image.
“Kailangang unahin ni Chief PNP Acorda na isaayos ang institusyon, at kasama niya kami dito, kailangan alisin na ang mga bulok sa organisasyon, kasuhan ang mga sangkot sa anomalya at papanagutin upang hindi na makapanira pa,” Revilla said.
The senator mentioned the outcome of the Senate Committee on Public Order and Illegal Drugs hearing on the assassination of Negros Oriental Governor Roel Degamo, in which several members of the PNP are said to be politicians’ soldiers, which he described as a slap in the face to the PNP.
