Baclaran Vendors to Charge P20-P50 if You Want to Register Your Sim Card
Some vendors allegedly offered Sim card registration services to customers for P20-P50 in Baclaran, Parañaque City.
The vendors each have their own plan for meeting the April 26 SIM card registration deadline. Some SIM card sellers in Baclaran charge 20 to 50 pesos to assist subscribers whose SIM has not yet been registered.
SIM card vendors indicate that SIM card registration requires a significant amount of internet traffic, based on the article of Police Files Tonite. As a result, if the internet connection is poor, there is a good risk that the registration will fail.
Meanwhile, the National Telecommunications Commission (NTC) reminded the public that registering for a SIM card is completely free. The NTC has received complaints that some people charge as little as P10 to assist others, according to NTC Deputy Commissioner Jon Paulo Salvahan.
Telecommunications firms Globe, Smart, and DITO offer aided registration services in a variety of locations throughout the country, including their mall stores. Certain local government units (LGUs) are also assisting residents with SIM registration, according to the corporations.
The registration time for SIM cards has been extended for another 90 days. Justice Secretary Jesus Crispin Remulla made the announcement during an inter-agency task force meeting on the Mindoro oil spill.
He made the statement during a sectoral meeting with President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. in Malacaang on Tuesday. The deadline was originally set for April 26, but officials opted to extend it due to low registration turnout.
