Senator Bato Dela Rosa Denies Being  “Bayaran” of Arnie Teves

Senator Bato Dela Rosa Clarifies He is Not “Bayaran” of Arnie Teves

Senator Ronald “Bato” Dela Rosa denied that he is “bayaran” of Negros Oriental Congressman Arnolfo “Arnie” Teves Jr.

Dela Rosa denied being “biased” towards Teves on Tuesday. He also detailed the “malicious allegations” that the solon supposedly paid him, as well as his role as the “tuta” of their family.

“Ako daw being a chairman of this committee is biased to the Teves because ako daw ay bayad na ni Teves, ako daw ay tuta ni Teves. Hindi po ako kaya bayaran kahit gaano kayaman ni Teves at kahit sino man,” said Dela Rosa during the continuation of the hearing of the Senate Public Order committee on the Degamo slay.

Bato Bayaran Teves

According to the justice department, Teves is one of the masterminds behind the murders of Degamo and eight others. The legislator maintained that he and his family had nothing to do with the alleged crime, based on the report.

According to Dela Rosa, her wife is related to the Teves clan, based on social media distribution in Negros Oriental. He emphasized that his wife had an auntie, her mother’s cousin in Dumaguete, who is married to a Teves.

“Ang asawa ko daw ay related sa mga Teves by affinity… Ang asawa ko po ay merong auntie, bale pinsan ng kanyang mother na married to a Teves dyan sa Dumaguete. Pero ito ay not in any way related to Arnie Teves,” he explained.

Senator Joel Villanueva, who was present during the session, defended Dela Rosa as well. Dela Rosa, he claims, cannot be bought with money and cannot be dazzled by affluence, and he is the witness.

The Senate panel barred Teves from virtually attending the investigation’s start on Monday. He has not returned to the nation after his travel permission expired more than a month ago, purportedly due to threats to his life.
