Joshua Garcia made it again because of TikTok
Kapamilya actor Joshua Garcia admitted that the social media platform TikTok helped him boost his career once again.
Joshua is one of ABS-CBN’s homegrown talents. His career’s first big break was his tandem with Julia Barretto. Together, as the JoshLia love team, did several projects. When the tandem became inactive, they did individual projects.
The actor proved that he can soar high as a solo artist and be paired with different leading ladies.
However, there was a time when he had doubts about the status of his career in the entertainment industry. He mentioned this in a recent interview, based on the article in PEP.
Just like many artists, Joshua Garcia also worried for his career when the pandemic hit the world. He had a lot of realization. He said that after being so busy with a lot of projects, he thought of what happened next when the pandemic happened.
“Kasi parang lahat tayo, naliligaw noon. Lost tayong lahat noon. Breadwinner ako hanggang ngayon. Mabuti na lang, nakaipon ako,” he said. On the other hand, he shared that pandemic did not hit them that hard compared to others because he was still able to put food on their table.
He also said that there was also “takot” because aside from the pandemic, his home network ABS-CBN lost its franchise as well.
“Sabi ko, pagkatapos ng pandemic, ‘Ano ang susunod sa akin? Paano ako makakabalik sa industriya?’ Parang natakot ako noon kasi parang nawawala na ako sa social media. Nawawala yung ingay,” the actor said.
Joshua Garcia said that he is thankful TikTok came. It was unexpected for him but the social media platform became a way that he once again caught the attention of many netizens. The Kapamilya actor’s videos on TikTok would always go viral.
