Richard Poon Reveals He Had An Incredible Encounter W/ Former President Rodrigo Duterte

RICHARD POON – Singer Richard Poon revealed he had an incredible encounter with former president Rodrigo Duterte.

Rodrigo Roa Duterte, a Filipino lawyer and politician, is often known as Digong, Rody, and by the initials DU30 and PRRD. He was the 16th president of the Philippines from 2016 to 2022. He is the leader of PDP-Laban, the party in power in the Philippines during his administration.

The Philippines’ outspoken and divisive populist president Duterte is best known for his relentless war on drugs, which, in the opinion of human rights organizations, has led to the extrajudicial execution of tens of thousands of people in his country.

Rodrigo Duterte has repeatedly said in public that he would gladly execute both drug dealers and consumers himself if he could and that their lives are practically expendable. Police on the street serve as judge, jury, and executioner with his approval.

Just recently, singer Richard Poon spent four hours talking and bonding with Duterte. He revealed this on his Instagram account on April 12, 2023.

Richard Poon said their talk included both serious and lighthearted parts. Poon said that the meeting with Duterte took place following the singer’s performance in Davao.

The former president said that he would like to take the singer to the slums next time they meet and it would just be the two of them.

“Having a pending show in Davao, I had a small thought na I wanted to have FPRRD sign my book sana, so I asked my friend @nikkaevents1 if it was possible.

“I took my early flight to Davao yesterday without any update from Nikka…

“Come evening, Senator Bong Go surprisingly called me and said everything was arranged (Nikka called & said she wanted to surprise me)

“After I finished my event commitment, FPRRD came and graciously shared 4 HOURS of his time & let me ask him all the curious questions I had in mind. What an unforgettable opportunity for serious(and not so serious) conversation with the former President.

“He said next time, he will take me to the slums, kaming dalawa lang. Exciting.”
