Netizen Using Candle on Cellphone During Procession After Forgetting to Bring One Goes Viral
A netizen attending a procession during the holy week goes viral after using a candle inside his cellphone after forgetting to bring one.
Many Filipinos are naturally religious and have a deep faith in God. Perhaps it was delivered by the Spaniards, who brought Christianity 500 years ago. This is where various beliefs and forms of worship originated, particularly during Holy Week.
From Palm Sunday until Jesus’ Resurrection Day, the Catholic church in the Philippines celebrates with style. Although times have changed, Filipinos’ customary rituals for meditation and memory of Jesus Christ’s suffering remain. Due to COVID-19, there were also two years without processions, prayers, readings, or greetings, yet people’s faith remained unchanged.
This year, worshippers are expected to flock to the church once more, joining in the procession, singing the reading, via crucis, and Visita Iglesia, till the ceremonial of greeting Jesus on the Day of Resurrection. During the procession, devotees bring candles.
Meanwhile, a netizen goes viral on Facebook after being filmed utilizing contemporary technology during the Filipino Holy Week custom. The netizen was observed utilizing a candle within his cellphone rather than the genuine melting candle. She uses the digital candle after forgetting to bring one, according to the post.
“Yung wala kang pambili kandila pero may data ka,” the caption on the post said.
The humorous snapshot went viral on social media and made the internet community chuckle. The clever idea of the netizen elicited a variety of responses from the netizens.
