Newborn Declared Dead by Hospital in Bulacan Discovered Alive

Hospital in Bulacan Allegedly Declared a Newborn Dead But Turn Out to Be Alive

A mother calls for justice after her newborn child was declared dead by a hospital in Bulacan but eventually discovered to be alive.

A father has learned that his baby, who was proclaimed dead after being delivered to a hospital in this province without breathing, is still alive. As a result, Jennifer Martinez, a Pandi resident demanded justice after her premature baby girl who was admitted on April 2, 2023, was declared dead in an unknown hospital, based on her Facebook post.

Jennifer claims that her baby girl, who was less than seven months old at the time, was deemed dead since she was not crying or breathing when she was delivered. The doctor allegedly told her husband to obtain a cardboard box to place the baby in, but the father witnessed the newborn taking two deep breaths.

Based on the report of Remate, the father quickly reported the breathing, but the doctor and nurse informed him it was a hallucination and that he had missed it because no real baby so little exists. They brought the baby home to Jennifer’s house to bury it, but when they examined it closer, they noticed a strong heartbeat while wailing.

According to Jennifer’s family, the infant needed intensive care and an incubator, but nothing was accessible from neighboring hospitals or Manila. After 8 p.m., the doctor informed them that Cabanatuan was the only one with complete equipment, such as an incubator.

The infant was admitted to the hospital, but it quickly became ill and died. Jennifer stated that, aside from the blotter at the barangay, they don’t know what to do next, but the family has approached Senator Raffy Tulfo for assistance.
