Megastar Sharon Cuneta received appreciation from veteran singer-songwriter Rey Valera and here is the reason behind this.
Sharon has done a lot of remarkable projects when it comes to her singing and acting career. With her star status in the entertainment industry, she had become an inspiration to many younger stars.
Even veteran showbiz personalities have appreciated Sharon’s work ethic and what she has done for people in the industry, just like what Rey said in a recent interview, based on the article in Abante.
Entertainment columnist Byx Almacen said that the song Mr. DJ which was popularized by Sharon Cuneta had a big impact on Rey Valera’s career and other composers. He said that the Megastar is the kind of singer who does not forget to thank the composers of her songs.
“Bata pa lang ‘yan, tumatanaw na ng utang na loob. Kapag kumakanta ‘yan sa telebisyon, ang unang bukambibig niya bago pa lang siya ma-interview, babatiin kaagad ‘yung composer niya. ‘Hello, babatiin ko si Rey Valera ang composer ko’,” the veteran songwriter shared.
Rey also said that Sharon is one of the artists who helped the careers of composers who were just trying to establish their names in the music industry.
“Pero dumating si Sharon Cuneta, nagkaroon ng mukha ang composer, nagkaroon ng idea ang mga Pilipino na meron palang gumagawa ng kanta, akala ko basta kanta lang sila, gano’n. ‘Yun ang impact ng ‘Mr. DJ’ at kay Sharon Cuneta sa music industry ng Pilipinas, sa OPM,” Rey said.
He added that through the Megastar, composers were able to have their faces because, in the past, they were just behind the scenes. The veteran singer-songwriter said that before composers were just considered the last ones in the food chain but his somehow changed.
