Cristy Fermin defended Barbie Forteza against “malandi” accusation
Kapuso actress barbie Forteza received an accusation that she is a flirt because of her love team with actor David Licauco and this received a reaction from veteran showbiz writer Cristy Fermin.
Barbie and David’s beautiful chemistry was undeniable in the series Maria Clara at Ibarra. It was previously revealed that their tandem was unexpected to be a hit. David’s manager shared that due to the viewers’ response to Barbie and David’s chemistry, some adjustments were made to the script.
They are now known as the FiLay love team. The name was derived from their characters’ names Fidel and Klay. From their tandem in MCAI, they will have upcoming projects and guest appearances.
Although there were those who love their tandem, based on the article in Abante, there are David Licauco’s fans who expressed negative comments against Barbie Forteza. The actress is accused of being “malandi.” It is known to many that Barbie is in a relationship with actor Jak Roberto.
In a recent episode of Showbiz Now Na, the YouTube showbiz talk show of Cristy Fermin, she defended the Kapuso actress. “Hindi naman ako papayag na pangalanan si Barbie ng malandi. OA naman ‘yun. Ginagawa lamang po niya ang kanyang trabaho bilang artista,” the veteran showbiz writer said.
She also stressed that the management of GMA-7 decided to make them partners in a project because their home network knows that they are popular with the audience and they have a strong appeal together.
“Pero hindi po ‘yun pagiging flirt… Kawawa naman si Barbie,” Cristy Femin reiterated about the Kapuso actress.
Meanwhile, in a previous interview, Barbie Forteza and David Licauco expressed gratitude to FiLay fans. Aside from the heartwarming support that they get from their fans, they are also thankful for their understanding.
The onscreen partners said that it is a good thing that their fans understand that what they have is just a love team and it is just for the project. This is important for Barbie and David because their fans knew how to separate their personal lives from what is seen on screen.
