PBBM Will Give Scholarships to Children whose Parents Got Killed During Degamo Assassination
President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr (PBBM) will give scholarships to the children of eight civilians who got killed during the assassination of Negros Oriental Governor Roel Degamo.
Malacaang declared that President Marcos will assist the children of the eight citizens killed in the Degamo ambush in Pamplona on March 4. Cheloy Garafil, the president’s communications secretary, also stated that the president will provide medical assistance to those injured as a result of the governor’s shooting.
Garafil stated in his statement that, in addition to the governor and eight civilians slain, 13 people were injured during the assassination. Marcos paid a visit to Gov. Degamo’s wake in Dumaguete City on Wednesday.
Based on the report, the president also guaranteed that justice will be served to Degamo’s family and the victims of the alleged crime. The authorities have so far apprehended and charged four suspects, in addition to one suspect who was killed in the clash between the police and the military.
P/Lt. SITG Degamo addressed at a news conference. The murder is about to be solved, according to Col Gerard Pelare. Until Thursday, Pelare stated that the SITG was reviewing forensic analyses of the getaway vehicles and weaponry confiscated from the suspected gunmen and that their owners had been identified.
They have also identified the alleged mastermind of the murder, but Pelare has not named him. He confirmed that one of the assault guns retrieved was used to assassinate Degamo.
