David Licauco is happy about the current status of his showbiz career
Kapuso actor David Licauco acknowledges the fact that through his breakthrough role in Maria Clara at Ibarra, his popularity skyrocketed.
David portrayed the character of Fidel in the said Kapuso historical portal drama series that received positive reviews. Viewers also commended David’s portrayal of Barbie Forteza’s love team partner in the series.
Barbie played the character of Klay and their tandem is known as FiLay. Their onscreen partnership was well-received.
David admitted that through this project, he became busier with different showbiz engagements, based on the article in GMA Entertainment. His busy schedule in showbiz also consumed the time that was allotted for his visit to his three restaurants.
Aside from show business, the actor has established his own businesses. “To be completely honest I haven’t had the time to visit my restaurants because ‘yung responsibilities ko right now sa showbiz is almost everyday, actually, everyday,” David Licauco said with a smile.
On the other hand, he is thankful for the fame he has now. David is grateful to have the opportunities that were given to him.
“I’m very, very, grateful for this opportunity na I’m here in this position, kumbaga, busy ka. Although, sometimes it gets tiring, it gets overwhelming. You just have to, actually, take a rest siguro, like parang, sit back and think you know I’m grateful. I’m very, very, lucky to be in this position,” he said.
Following FiLay love team’s stint in MCAI, David and Barbie will reunite for the “Lady and Luke” episode of Daig Kayo Ng Lola Ko starting March 12.
When asked about how he and Barbie will do differently their tandem in this new project, he said that he will try to do the “kilig” gestures but he believes that it takes two to tango and this will also depend on the directing.
