Rabiya Mateo talked about preparing for her future
Miss Universe Philippines 2020 Rabiya Mateo shared her “takot” that she might go back to her previous life status.
Rabiya has been vocal about her life background. In previous interviews, she should share the hardships that she went through because her family was not well-off. She shared that she was raised by a single mother.
Entering into pageantry opened a lot of doors for Rabiya. From being a beauty queen, she was able to have the chance to sign a contract with GMA-7 and now she is part of the show Ticktoclock.
After over a year since she officially became a part of showbiz, Rabiya Mateo is already aware that showbiz stints are not permanent. This is the reason why she is wise when it comes to her finances.
“I’m looking for investments na,” the Kapuso star said, adding that she would sometime feel that she wants to push through with showbiz and sometimes not. “Pero it doesn’t mean din naman na wala kang chance to thrive,” she said.
Rabiya said that she is “sigurista” and perhaps this is because she is the eldest among her siblings. With this, she makes sure that everything she does will make her and her family’s future secure.
“So now, habang blessed pa talaga ako with my work sa hosting and, hopefully, may matutuloy na teleserye; I just want to save as much as I can,” she said. Rabiya is also doing a conscious effort not to splurge money.
She said that she does not want to see herself going back to the life status that she had before having the success that she has now. Rabiya shared that she thought of going abroad to earn more money for her family.
“During that time, yung takot ko is that baka bumalik kami sa time na nangungutang, walang makain, napuputulan ng kuryente. Yun talaga ang promise ko kay mama, na after ko ng college, I won’t let it happen again,” Rabiya Mateo shared.
Right now, the Kapuso star is thankful that blessings keep on coming and she is able to provide for her family.
