Connie Sison Bids Goodbye To 'Unang Hirit': "Officially retired"

Journalist and TV host Connie Sison has officially bid goodbye to Unang Hirit, the morning show on the Kapuso network.

In a recent episode of the morning show, hosts paid tribute to Connie as they reminisced about her memorable moments. She shared a video in which she explained to the viewers why she is saying goodbye.

Connie has been part of the UH family for 13 years already. She said that due to health reasons, she has to bid goodbye to the show. However, she stressed that she will still do other shows on TV and radio.

The journalist also explained that it has been the request of her youngest child to spend more time with her. With this, she and her family decided on her retirement. “Salamat Unang Hirit Family ko para sa labintatlong taon na masasayang alaala. Officially retired from the morning show,” she wrote in her post.

On March 1, Connie Sison shared a post about her life now that she is no longer doing the morning show. “And just like that, I have a new, more normal sched this first day of March!” the journalist wrote in an Instagram post.

She also shared that it was not just her who retired from the morning but also her husband and her driver. “Pareho silang gumigising kasabay ko for more than 2 decades including the years I had when I started sa industry doing the morning show,” Connie revealed, adding that she is thankful to them because she couldn’t have done this stint without their help.

One thing that makes her happy after retiring from the show is seeing the sunrise for real. “Dati kase logo lang ng sun ng @unanghirit ang nakikita ko,” Connie Sison said.
