Darren Espanto has a new career milestone

Kapamilya singer Darren Espanto is the new “hurado” or judge in Tawag ng Tanghalan, the singing competition segment in the noontime show It’s Showtime.

Darren has come a long way since he joined The Voice Kids Philippines in 2014. From that, he became part of Star Magic, the talent management company of ABS-CBN. Over the years, he has done major concerts in the Philippines and abroad.

Just recently, the 21-year-old singer was hailed as the new TNT Hurado. Years ago, he was the one singing on stage and being judged for his performance. Now, he is the judge and the one giving comments on contestants’ performances.

In his Instagram post, Darren Espanto expressed how grateful to have this kind of opportunity.

After he was introduced as the new hurado, the singer showcased his powerful voice. He said the song This is Me from the musical The Greatest Showman. Darren also sang a medley of Con Te Partirò and The Phantom of the Opera.

Based on the article in Balita, the singer expressed that he felt nervous during his first day as a hurado. “Grabe po ang kaba ko ngayon kasi siyempre ang dami pong magagaling ngayon, nandito si Sir Louie at Klarisse,” Darren said referring to his co-judges veteran composer Louie Ocampo and biritera Klarisse de Guzman.

The singer also thanked his fans for showing support for him all these years. “Maraming salamat. Good afternoon sa inyo mga ‘DARRENatics,’ maraming salamat po sa pagsuporta at maraming salamat sa pag-welcome sa akin ngayong hapon,” he said.

In his IG post, Darren Espanto shared his photos in front of the huge TNT logo. “I AM NOW A TNT HURADO! Thank you po for welcoming me, Showtime Fam! It’s both an honor and a pleasure,” he wrote in the caption of his post.
