Chito Miranda Warns Against Scammers Using Fake Accounts to Seek Donation
Parokya ni Edgar lead vocalist Chito Miranda warned the public against scammers making fake accounts to ask for donations.
Exploiters are taking advantage of Gab Chee Kee’s condition as the bedridden guitarist of Parokya ni Edgar. This came after a bogus Facebook account used his sickness to solicit funds.
Chito Miranda, the frontman of the Filipino band, announced on his official Facebook account that a bogus account is using his identity. After identifying the bogus account, the singer issues a caution to netizens in a Facebook post on Wednesday, Feb. 15.
Such as his family’s profile image and even the cover photo of such an account. The account is even more suspicious because of the words “another acct for gab needs” may be seen in its bio.
Vocalist’s note in his post: “Ingat lang po! Nagkalat ang mga scammers.”
Chito’s only verified account with a blue check mark, as well as Parokya ni Edgar’s social media profile, are actively organizing multiple contribution channels, as well as a bid for the band fighting lymphoma. Yesterday, Tuesday, Feb. 14, a guitar signed by four Erasherheads members was auctioned off for P1.3 million.
Gab’s continued medical expenses will be covered by this sum. Meanwhile, in a separate statement on Tuesday, Parokya ni Egdar informed followers of the band’s continuous recovery from the ailment. He is still in the intensive care unit, according to the report.
