8 Police Died, 20 Injured Vehicles They were Riding Crashed in Misamis Oriental

Eight (8) police officers died while twenty (20) others were injured after the vehicle they were riding crashed into a wing van in Misamis Oriental.

On Saturday morning, three vehicles were involved in a road accident in Purok 11, Barangay Poblacion Naawan, Misamis Oriental. The accident claimed the lives of eight police officers and injured twenty others.

SSg Michael C Ermac, SSg Reuyan Marjun, SSg Jevilou Caeda, SSg Eugene A Lagcao, SSg Aaron P Ticar, SSg Arnill M Manoop, SMS Eric Generalao, and retired SSg Abapo Anito, who functioned as the driver, were declared on arrival at the hospital.

Tumangob; SSg Edwin Calavio; SSg Kevin Ramos; SSg Joel Lumacad; SSg Jomar Maramara; SSg Gerry Harry Ucaya; SSg Mark Gil Macasero; SSg Marvin Velasquez; SSg Maute Mohammad; SSg Archel Fuentes; were wounded.

Meanwhile, Benjamin Mudabpel, the driver of the wing ban truck, was injured. According to Brigadier General Lorenzo Coop, director of Police Regional Office 10, the officers were traveling in two vans from Cagayan de Oro to Iligan City.

A wing van vehicle with police officers overtakes. However, one of the front tires exploded, causing a three-vehicle collision, based on the report.

According to Coop, the officers in the two vans attended school and received police training in Cagayan de Oro. Some of the injured officers have returned to their base, while others remain hospitalized.
