Coco Martin does not see himself in public service
Kapamilya actor Coco Martin shared the reason why he does not want to cross over to politics like other showbiz personalities.
Coco is one of the in-demand leading men of the Kapamilya network. His popularity resonates with the projects that he does over the years. He is also trusted by many brands as an endorser. His fans’ age bracket is wide as well.
In a recent interview, based on the article in Inquirer, Coco was asked if he has plans to enter politics. He said that this is not going to happen. The actor thinks that he does not fit in this kind of world.
“Ang feeling ko kasi ay hindi ‘yun ang forte ko. Hindi ako doon magaling,” he said. Coco Martin admitted that during the campaign season, he was approached and asked if he has political plans.
The actor just gave a simple answer “no.” He added that he has no qualities of a public servant and that he just wants to campaign for someone who he really believes can serve the Filipino people.
Right now, Coco said that he wants to focus on things that will develop his artistry, whether it is as an actor or a director. He shared that he wants to explore this aspect in his showbiz career.
The actor said that even though he has no formal training or education when it comes to acting, directing, or the creative side of production, he thinks that he has a talent. “Kaya dito ko talaga binubuhos ‘yung pagod, lakas at talino. Para sa akin, ito ang mahal ko. Dito ako masaya kahit pagod na pagod ako,” Coco Martin said.
The current project that Coco is doing is the series Batang Quiapo. This is based on Fernando Poe Jr.’s movie with the same title. His leading lady in this upcoming series is Lovi Poe.
