Celebrity Ellen Adarna shared what her husband Derek Ramsay did after they saw the Chinese sign outside their neighbor’s house.

Although Ellen and Derek are not so active in showbiz now, they still frequently share glimpses of their life as a couple on social media. The celebrity couple would always share their bonding moments with Ellen’s son Elias. Last year, they spent their holidays in Europe.

In a recent Instagram Story that she shared, Ellen showcased the effort of her husband to show his love for the country. It can be seen that Derek was putting the Philippine flag outside the terrace of their house.

There was a portion in the video in which it was shown that a Chinese sign was posted outside the house of their neighbor. The former actress captioned her post with “I like the view.” Then, she used the “proud Pinoy” hashtag. Ellen Adarna also tagged the Instagram page of her husband and she put the word “patriotic.”

Then, she shared a photo of the flag after her husband was able to finish putting it on their terrace.

This was shared on Inquirer’s Twitter page and a netizen translated the Chinese sign which according to him was a good luck wish for the new year. “Sign roughly translates to: May good luck arrive at these doors each year. And may all things be gradually fulfilled to your heart’s desires,” Twitter user @MALT_ph commented.

Then, the netizen joked that maybe Derek did not receive “tikoy” from his neighbor. “LOL! wawa d neighbor just wishing everyone a prosperous new year! d cguro nabigyan si Derek ng tikoy?” the netizen added and included a gif featuring Bea Alonzo saying her popular movie line: “Pero bakit parang kasalanan ko?”
