Paolo Contis Reveals Reasons for Giving “Sustento” to His Children
Kapuso actor-comedian Paolo Contis admitted not giving “sustento” to his children and revealed his alleged personal reasons.
During his appearance on “Fast Talk with Boy Abunda,” Paolo spoke up about his bond with his children. He stated that he does not pay alimony to his children with ex-wife Lian Paz, Xonia and Xalene.
Xonia and Xalene are two of his daughter from ex-partner Lian Paz. He also has a daughter named “Summer” from LJ Reyes, one of his former live-in partners. According to him, when you enter into a relationship, you don’t intend to leave the person you love, but things happen that lead to separation.
“Every time na nasa relationship ako, I really love the person and I think saksi naman ang mga tao how I love. Bigay todo naman talaga akong magmahal. Kaya lang siguro may mga ilang bagay na hindi na alam ng publiko na mga nangyayari privately na doon napupunta, doon nahahantong,” he said.
“Basically lahat naman ng pwedeng gawin para i-save ang relasyon, ginagawa ko ‘yun. Kaya lang ang alam lang ng tao is kapag natapos na. So nagkaroon ng konting reputasyon kung bakit ganoon ang naging tingin sa akin ng tao,” he added.
According to him, he is not the type of guy that others depict him to be, and he considers himself to be a good person who occasionally makes mistakes. He is now claimed to be learning to “own up” to his errors. He further stated that he was telling the truth not only to the general public, but also to the individuals concerned.
It was at this point that he was questioned about his inability to maintain his children, which he admitted. Paolo’s explanation in the interview, he has his reasons why, but he is saving for them so that he can tell them the truth one day.
“As I’ve said, I had my reasons, pero anong point? I don’t wanna argue about it anymore. Ayoko na siyang lumaki. It’s a mistake na nasimulan ko ever since before na hindi ako nakapagbigay.”
But, after Paolo was ready to work effectively, he began saving for the children, intending to give it directly to Xonia, Xalene, and Summer. Although he is aware that he has no contact with his children, particularly with Xonia and Xalene because he hasn’t seen them in a long time.
He also acknowledged that he was frightened of making his children upset with him. Tito Boy asked Paolo if he loved them, and he said, “sobra,” adding that he wanted to make amends for the children.
He is also grateful to his ex-wife and her new partner John for their assistance in raising his children. The “John” referred to by the Kapuso actor is Lian’s fiancé and the acknowledged father of her children, John Cabahug.
